Raymarine ST6001+ autopilot controller is reporting "seatalk failure" error. This controller's board is got only few electronic components so it makes troubleshooting very easy. Except that spare parts are almoust impossible to find theese days. Problem was in ASIC (application specific integrated circuit). This IC task is to act as a watchdog in case of powerfail, to provide external reset to main MC, turning on buzzer, taking care of communications, etc. Changed it, cleaned some corrosion around the pushbuttons, and it is up and running, and will probabbly run for a long time. Thoose times when electronics were made to last 10+ years on all weather conditions without a sweat.
